@JamesWalkerNFL what do you see as the Dolphin's weakest link and how can we fix it in the draft?

James Walker: This is an interesting question, Mike. Although I feel it's ideal for the Dolphins to take a receiver in the first round, the overall weakest link is at linebacker. Jelani Jenkins, last season's leading tackler, is the only keeper in this group, in my opinion. Koa Misi is decent. Misi doesn't hurt you most weeks, but he doesn't make enough impact plays. He's also average as a middle linebacker, which is not his natural position. There is a reason the Dolphins made major changes at linebacker by cutting Philip Wheeler, trading Dannell Ellerbe and letting top backup Jason Trusnik walk in free agency. It's clear the team did feel its linebacker group was good enough. The problem is this is not a deep draft for the position, especially at middle linebacker, which is what Miami needs the most.

Walker: I don't have a problem with it, Justin. This could be a case of "best available player," which general managers and coaches say all the time but don't always follow. Georgia running back Todd Gurley is a potential star. He tore his ACL last season, but the Dolphins can afford to let Gurley heal and come along slowly. They already have a 1,000-yard rusher in Lamar Miller. Receiver is a better fit for Miami at No. 14, but the team shouldn't reach for the position, especially if dynamic talents such as Gurley are still on the board.

Walker: I assume you mean pick No. 14, John. In this scenario, I expect the Dolphins to take DeVante Parker. Miami needs a true No. 1 receiver, and Parker has the tools and potential. He's also a good fit for Miami's quick-hitting offense under offensive coordinator Bill Lazor. Parker is very good after the catch, which brings a lot of value and would help Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Thanks for the good questions, Dolphins fans.
