Wide receiver Brian Hartline hasn’t closed the door on his former team. Hartline’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told the “Joe Rose Show” on WQAM in South Florida on Friday morning that a return to the Dolphins remains a possibility for the free-agent receiver.

“The grass isn’t always greener,” Rosenhaus said.

Rosenhaus listed the Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs as teams with interest in Hartline. According to Rosenhaus, Miami’s stability at quarterback with Ryan Tannehill is a big selling point. Hartline had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons with Tannehill as his quarterback in 2012 and 2013.

However, Hartline’s production (39 receptions, 474 yards) dropped significantly in 2014 as Miami ran a new offense under first-year offensive coordinator Bill Lazor. The Dolphins released Hartline last week because his production didn't match his projected $5.95 million salary in 2015.

In order to return to the Dolphins, Hartline clearly must take a pay cut. Outside teams might be able to offer a higher salary and more years to Hartline. But Rosenhaus made a point Thursday that familiarity could play a factor in Hartline's final decision.
