W2W4: Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins (3-3) travel this weekend to face the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-6).

Here are three things to look for in this game from Miami’s perspective:

No letdowns: The Dolphins have been infamous for their inconsistency this season. We are approaching the midpoint of the season and Miami has yet to win two games in a row. The Dolphins have a good opportunity to accomplish that feat against struggling Jacksonville, which finally got its first win of the season last week against the Cleveland Browns. Miami players and coaches have talked all week about not overlooking the Jaguars because of their record. Last year the Dolphins lost to a previously winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers team and are using that game as an example.

Sack attack: A little-known fact is Jacksonville’s defense is second in the NFL in sacks. That is a big concern for the Dolphins, who gave up a season-high four sacks last week in a win over the Chicago Bears. Miami’s pass protection has been much improved this season. But this could be one of the stiffer tests for Miami’s passing game. The Dolphins have allowed 14 sacks in six games.

Stopping ‘Shoelace’: Perhaps Miami’s biggest challenge defensively will be stopping dynamic running back Denard Robinson. The former Michigan quarterback and 2013 fifth-round pick is coming off a career-high 127 rushing yards and a touchdown in Week 7. Robinson is a good athlete who initially had trouble finding a position. The Dolphins must beware of Robinson at all times. He’s one of the few Jaguars capable of breaking open the game.
