Stein's Power Rankings: Week 16

We tried it for the first time in our history last February.

And we liked it.

With the committee (of one) wrapped up in various All-Star Weekend duties last February, we made a first-time exception to solicit help in compiling the comments that appear every week, extending invitations to various members of ESPN’s TrueHoop Network to fire in their input.

The same once-a-season practice is being employed for this edition of the rankings, which have been published on a Tuesday to coincide with the nine games on the schedule on the first night teams are all back to work after the break.

The 1-to-30 team order, as always, comes exclusively from your trusty committee ... with Miami making the newsiest jump after slicing Indiana’s lead in the loss column to a mere two games and duly leapfrogging the Pacers for the first time in these rankings since the preseason. But each comment in this Week 16 edition, as we move into the final few days of NBA trade season, was written in committee collaboration with the member of the TrueHoop Network listed.

The rankings, as always, were also compiled with the usual assisting from ESPN Stats & Information and the Elias Sports Bureau. Click here to rank the teams yourself.
