Kings acquire defenseman Ellerby from Florida

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Kings have acquired defenseman Keaton Ellerby from Florida in exchange for a fifth-round selection in the 2013 NHL draft, Kings general manager Dean Lombardi announced in a news release.

The Kings assigned defenseman Andrew Campbell to Manchester (AHL).

Ellerby, 24, has played in 125 career NHL games, all with Florida, recording 17 points and 70 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-5, 217-pounder was drafted by the Panthers in the first-round (10th overall) in the 2007 draft.

The fifth-round selection traded to Florida is the same fifth-round selection acquired by the Kings from New Jersey earlier this week in exchange for forward Andrei Loktionov.
