          LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Clippers will sign veteran small forward Dahntay Jones to a 10-day contract on Wednesday, according to team sources.

          The Clippers had planned on signing small forward Darius Miller to a similar contract on Tuesday but changed course Tuesday night after Jones scored 30 points on 13-of-15 shooting in the Fort Wayne Mad Ants' 153-131 win over the Reno Big Horns.

          Fort Wayne is the NBA League affiliate for the Clippers and 12 other NBA teams. The Clippers had just sent down rookie CJ Wilcox, who had 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting on Tuesday.

          Jones, 34, has played in 589 NBA games over 10 seasons for six teams, averaging 5.6 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. He was cut by the Utah Jazz in training camp last fall and joined the NBA Developmental League.

          Jones is averaging 13.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 18 games for the Mad Ants this season. Over the last six games, he is hitting 68.8 percent of his shots and averaging 18 points per game. He scored 26 points against Delaware on Saturday and had a season-high 30 on Friday as Fort Wayne has won six straight.

          After Tuesday's game, Jones sent out a post on his Instagram, which ended with a message to Clippers fans. "I can't wait to give #clippernation everything I have #blessed"

          Jones also was welcomed to the Clippers over Twitter by his former Duke teammate, J.J. Redick.
