Blake Griffin is West's player of the week

Blake Griffin was named the Western Conference Player of the Week for games played Nov. 24-30, the NBA announced Monday. It marks the fifth time Griffin, now in his fifth NBA season, has won the award. LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers was this week's recipient in the Eastern Conference.

Griffin averaged 23.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 5.0 assists last week, during which the Clippers went 4-0, all on the road. He scored at least 22 points in three of the four games and shot 51.3 percent from the floor in the four-game span.

On Nov. 24 against Charlotte, Griffin fell one assist shy of a triple-double, finishing with 22 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists in a 113-92 win. On Nov. 28, Griffin had 30 points and 10 rebounds in a 102-85 win in Houston against the Rockets.

Griffin, 25, is also the only player in the NBA this season averaging at least 22 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists.
