Power Rankings: No. 27 Kansas City Chiefs

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs evidently earned some respect from voters in this week's ESPN's NFL Power Rankings with their down-to-the-wire loss to the Broncos on Sunday in Denver.

The 0-2 Chiefs dropped from No. 25 last week to No. 27 this week, but they're still ranked one spot ahead of the 1-1 St. Louis Rams, who went on the road last weekend to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Chiefs, one of seven remaining winless teams, are ranked higher than all but two of those teams, the No. 15 Indianapolis Colts and the No. 16 New Orleans Saints.

The Colts have losses to Denver and Philadelphia, ranked first and fourth, respectively. The Saints opened the season with a pair of road games.

At No. 27, the Chiefs are probably about where they belong in the rankings. It's impossible to argue they should be ranked ahead of any of the NFL's one-loss teams or the Colts or Saints.

The Chiefs on Sunday play in Miami against the Dolphins, who are ranked 20th.
