In case you missed it, ESPN’s Mike Sando graded the offseason for each of the NFL’s 32 teams. He received some help from ESPN analysts in the process.

Sando gave a "B" to the Kansas City Chiefs. Five other teams were also awarded a "B" for their offseason maneuvers. Nine teams received a grade of "B-plus" or better and 17 received a mark of "B-minus" or worse, all the way down to a "D-minus" for the San Francisco 49ers.

So the Chiefs’ offseason moves rank somewhere in the top half of the league, according to Sando.

I believe the Chiefs forced some needs in the draft and addressed their biggest positional deficiency, wide receiver, only with veteran free agent Jeremy Maclin and third-round draft pick Chris Conley.

But the Chiefs did what they reasonably could the past few months, particularly given their salary-cap limitations. These types of rankings are usually skewed toward teams that spend a lot of money in free agency. Sure enough, the high-spending New York Jets were the only team to receive a grade as high as an "A" by Sando.

That’s why a grade of "B" for the Chiefs' offseason moves sounds about right to me.
