JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts returned to practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday's workout because of the flu.

Shorts said he was still feeling some lingering effects from the illness but felt much better, and there are no indications that he will not be available for Sunday's game against the New York Giants.

Several other players, however, did not practice: linebacker Jeremiah George (ankle), safety Josh Evans (elbow), defensive end Chris Clemons (knee), and linebacker Geno Smith (day off).

Also, defensive end Andre Branch participated fully in practice after participating on a limited basis on Wednesday. He is returning from a groin injury that has caused him to miss the past four games.
