Jaguars wake-up call: Day 4

Every day of Jacksonville Jaguars training camp we'll have a wake-up call that previews the day ahead.

6 p.m. ET -- Practice at Bartram Trail High School (attendance has been capped at 2,500).

Approx. 8:15 p.m. ET -- Jaguars coach Gus Bradley news conference

Here are some of the storylines we'll be following today:

  • Quarterback Blake Bortles has had a couple of solid days, but can he make it three in a row? A lack of consistency is the hallmark of rookie quarterbacks and stringing another good day on top of the last two would be a good sign of how well Bortles is progressing.

  • The intensity level was pretty high on Sunday, which was the first day the players were in shoulder pads. There were three scuffles. Coach Gus Bradley has been pleased with the players' intensity through the first three days, but this will be the best test. Can they maintain it after a pretty physical day?

  • Quarterback Chad Henne has praised rookie receivers Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson, saying they're grasping the offense quickly and he is beginning to gain a lot of confidence in the two. That's important with Cecil Shorts out for at least two weeks with a hamstring strain. It appears that Robinson is a little ahead of Lee but both are certainly ahead of schedule.

  • There has been a lot of praise for safety Johnathan Cyprien but not much mention of cornerback Dwayne Gratz. He is quietly having a solid start to camp. he had a pass breakup on Sunday and was in position to deliver a big hit had the Jaguars been going full contact. He is progressing in his development.
