INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Colts center Khaled Holmes, out since Aug. 7 with a high ankle sprain, could be on his way to returning to the starting lineup. Holmes took the majority of the snaps with the first unit in practice Wednesday and probably will start Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars if he doesn't suffer setbacks. "He got some work last week and we felt really good coming out of that work," coach Chuck Pagano said. "We'll see how he is [Thursday], how he comes in. We'll see how it plays out with the ankle and how he reacts to a full practice." Holmes injured his ankle on the first series of the Colts' preseason opener against the New York Jets. A.Q. Shipley, whom the Colts acquired off of waivers from the Baltimore Ravens just a week before the start of the regular season, started the first two games of the season against the Denver Broncos and Philadelphia Eagles. Here's a list of the injured players who did not practice Wednesday: CB Darius Butler (neck)
LB Jerrell Freeman (hamstring)
DL Ricky Jean Francois (ankle)
DL Art Jones (ankle)
OL Joe Reitz (ankle) Rest
LB D'Qwell Jackson
RB Ahmad Bradshaw
S LaRon Landry
WR Reggie Wayne
