Colts have fourth-oldest roster in the NFL

INDIANAPOLIS -- Youth is not on the Indianapolis Colts' side.

Philly.com recently ranked all 32 NFL teams by age and it turns out the Colts have the 29th youngest roster in the league.  The average age on the Colts is 26.66. They had the 15th-youngest roster in the league in 2012.

The St. Louis Rams have the youngest roster in the league, with their average age being 25.01. The Oakland Raiders have the oldest roster at 27.0

Here’s how the rest of the AFC South shook out: Jaguars 2nd (25.2), Texans 16th (25.98) and Titans 23rd (26.39).

The Colts have six players at least 30 years old and one player at least 40 years old: Matt Hasselbeck 38, Mike Adams 33, Gosder Cherilus 30, Reggie Wayne 365, Cory Redding 33 and Adam Vinatieri 41.

Robert Mathis is 33 years old, but he’s not on the active roster because he’s suspended for the first four games of the season.

The Colts have 29 players aged 26 and younger.
