Colts want you to know they're 'humble' and 'hungry'

ANDERSON, Ind. -- The Indianapolis Colts aren't hiding the fact that they failed to live up to expectations they had entering the 2015 season.

All you have to do is look at their backs to notice that.

Members of the Colts staff, including general manager Ryan Grigson and coach Chuck Pagano, wore T-shirts Wednesday that had "Humble & Hungry" written on the back.

Having slogans written on T-shirts is nothing new for Pagano and the Colts. They've routinely done it in the past. But this year's slogan carries some weight because of how last season went. The Colts added players such as Frank Gore, Andre Johnson and Trent Cole believing they were pieces that would help them reach the Super Bowl.

Not only did the Colts miss the playoffs, quarterback Andrew Luck missed nine games, they used five quarterbacks during the season and there was uncertainty surrounding Pagano's coaching future.

Pagano was coy earlier Wednesday when asked what his message was to his team.

"Just get better," he said. "I'm not going to divulge everything. That is privileged information. I know most of it isn't, but that's privileged information. Just come out here every single day, work your tail off, be selfless, don't worry about this, that and the other, control the controllables, be where your feet are, keep the main thing the main thing and get better every single day."

The 2015 season obviously humbled the Colts and now they're "hungry" to get back on track and back to the playoffs after making the postseason in each of the first three seasons with Pagano, Grigson and Luck.
