Joe Flacco, Maurkice Pouncey highlight recent players taken at No. 18

INDIANAPOLIS -- The NFL draft has finally arrived.

This is a significant draft for Indianapolis Colts general manager Ryan Grigson. The front office has already said it needs to do a better job building the roster through the draft, especially these next few years because of the financial restrictions it will likely have after signing quarterback Andrew Luck to his extension. The Colts will have to do it with only six draft picks, too, unless they acquire more.

The Colts currently have the No. 18 pick in the first round. Here's a look at how the 18th pick has done in the NFL over the past 10 years:

2006: Bobby Carpenter, LB, Dallas Cowboys

Carpenter had 10 starts in 93 career games. He totaled 126 tackles and 3.5 sacks in his seven-year career but hasn't played in the NFL since 2012.

2007: Leon Hall, CB, Cincinnati Bengals

Hall has been a consistent player. He's started 105 of the 121 games he's played and has has 366 tackles, 26 interceptions and three touchdowns.

Flacco sits at the top of this list. He was named the MVP of Super Bowl XLVII. Flacco has led the Ravens to the AFC Championship game three times. He has started every game of his career while throwing for 28,322 yards, 162 touchdowns and 102 interceptions.

2009: Robert Ayers, DE, Denver Broncos

Ayers stared 39 of 96 games. He has 153 tackles and 26 sacks, including nine last season with the New York Giants.

2010: Maurkice Pouncey, C, Pittsburgh Steelers

Pouncey started all 62 games with the Steelers. He missed all of last season with a broken ankle. Pouncey has been selected to the Pro Bowl four times.

2011: Corey Liuget, DT, San Diego Chargers

Liuget has been a steady player in his five seasons with the Chargers. He has 71 starts in 74 games to go with 155 tackles and 21 sacks.

2012: Melvin Ingram, LB, San Diego Chargers

Ingram has started every game he's played the past two seasons. He has 16.5 sacks in four years, including a career-high 10.5 last season.

Reid has started all 47 games of his three-year career. He has 164 tackles and seven interceptions.
