Colts' Chuck Pagano is one position away from completing his overhauled staff

INDIANAPOLIS -- The word continuity was used often when Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano signed his four-year contract extension last month.

The continuity Pagano was referring to didn't include his previous assistant coaches. He must have been talking about forming some continuity with the new assistant coaches he's added to his staff.

Pagano moved a step closer to finalizing his staff when the team announced the hiring of five more members to his staff Tuesday.

The Colts hired Maurice Drayton as assistant special teams coach, Lee Hull as wide receivers coach and Jemal Singleton as running backs coach.  Quadrian Banks was also added as conditioning/performance analyst and Andrew Hayes-Stoker as assistant to the head coach.

Only three coaches -- outside of Pagano -- return in the same capacity that they finished last season in. The only position that currently remains unfilled is tight ends coach.

Here's a rundown of the Colts coordinators and position coaches. Some positions have assistant coaches, but we'll go with the more prominent of the two coaches.

Offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski: Took over for the fired Pep Hamilton after Week 8. The Colts closed the season with a 5-3 record despite only having quarterback Andrew Luck for one of those eight games.

Defensive coordinator Ted Monachino: Replaces the fired Greg Manusky. Monachino spent the previous six seasons as linebackers coach of the Baltimore Ravens.

Quarterbacks coach Brian Schottenheimer: Replaces Clyde Christensen, who left to become offensive coordinator with the Miami Dolphins. Schottenheimer was offensive coordinator at the University of Georgia, but he also carried that same title with the St. Louis Rams and New York Jets. Schottenheimer was quarterbacks coach of the San Diego Chargers for four seasons.

Running backs coach Jemel Singleton: He comes to the Colts from the University of Arkansas where he was the special teams coordinator and running backs coach last season.

Receivers coach Lee Hull: He spent the past two seasons as the head coach of Morgan State where they went 11-12.

Offensive line coach Joe Philbin: He was fired as head coach of the Miami Dolphins during the 2015 season. He adds head coaching and offensive line coaching experience to the staff. Philbin was also given the title of assistant head coach.

Defensive line coach Gary Emanuel: He was on Pagano's staff last season. The defensive line was the strongest part of the unit early in the season prior to rookie Henry Anderson suffering a season-ending knee injury.

Linebackers coach Jim Herrmann: He joins the Colts after spending the previous seven seasons as linebackers coach of the New York Giants and the three seasons prior to that with the New York Jets in the same capacity.

Outside linebackers coach Brad White: He's entering his first season as outside linebackers coach after being an assistant linebackers coach last season.

Defensive backs coach Greg Williams: He comes to the Colts after spending the past seven seasons as an assistant linebackers and assistant secondary coach.

Special teams coach Tom McMahon: Another holdover from last season's staff. Punter Pat McAfee and kicker Adam Vinatieri had good seasons, but the unit as a whole took a step back.
