Colts have the sixth-most salary-cap space in the NFL

INDIANAPOLIS -- The start of NFL free agency is 11 days away. And when it starts, the Indianapolis Colts can't say they don't have any money to spend.

The Colts will have about $41 million in salary-cap space to upgrade their roster. The $41 million in cap space is the sixth most in the NFL and the highest of any of the playoff teams from last season.

It’s uncertain how much of the cap space the Colts will use, but know that general manager Ryan Grigson plans to be aggressive.

The Colts’ needs have been talked about several times over the past few weeks:

  • Defensive line

  • Pass-rusher

  • Safety

  • Offensive line

  • Running back

  • Receiver

And once March 10 rolls around, Grigson has the money to address those positions.
