Colts move up to No. 4 in Power Rankings

An impressive 27-0 shutout over the Cincinnati Bengals and a five-game winning streak has the Indianapolis Colts continuing to climb up ESPN’s Power Rankings.

The Colts, who spent the past two weeks at No. 8, are up to No. 4 this week.

You have your options on which area to praise the Colts during their winning streak.

The offense?

The Colts lead the NFL in total yards (452.9), passing (329.6) and are second in the league in points (30.9) a game.

The defense?

It's recorded 20 sacks and nine turnovers during the winning streak.

Special teams?

Punter Pat McAfee continues to pin teams deep on their own end of the field when he’s not perfectly executing an onside kick. The ageless-kicker Adam Vinatieri is a perfect 14-of-14 on field goals and 24-of-24 on extra points.

“We’re playing better, playing complementary football,” coach Chuck Pagano said. “All three phases are playing well. I think we played well in Week 1 and Week 2, we just didn’t finish. We got off to a slow start the first half of that first game and finished that one okay. We didn’t finish off the second one. We’re trying to put together complete games, 60-minute games in all three phases.”

The Colts’ next opponent, Pittsburgh, is No. 15 in this week’s rankings. The three teams in front of Indianapolis are Denver, Dallas and Philadelphia. The Broncos host San Diego in the Thursday night game. The Cowboys host Washington on Monday and the Eagles are at Arizona on Sunday.
