Todd McShay has Colts taking linebacker at No. 29

ESPN NFL draft expert Todd McShay has circled back aroundInsider with his pick for the Indianapolis Colts at No. 29 in next month's draft.

McShay has the Colts taking Virginia outside linebacker Eli Harold at 29. Harold is the player Indianapolis selected in McShay's second mock draft.

Alabama safety Landon Collins, who is an immediate need for the Colts, is headed to Philadelphia at No. 20 in McShay's mock.

The Colts got some help at outside linebacker when they signed former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Trent Cole, who has 85.5 sacks in his career, earlier this month. Cole is a short-term answer because he'll be 33 years old in October. And then there's the uncertainty of Robert Mathis. Colts owner Jim Irsay said last week that it could be as late as November until Mathis returns from his torn Achilles.

That's why drafting Harold would be a smart move for the Colts. He's raw still, according to McShay, but he'll have the ability to learn from veterans such as Cole and Mathis. The Colts also have Jonathan Newsome, who led the team in sacks with 6.5 last season, on the roster. Harold had 54 tackles, 7.0 sacks and an interception last season at Virginia.
