Grimes, Williams pass physicals

The only remaining member of the Houston Texans' non-football injury list is the most important.

While starting right guard Brandon Brooks is still not eligible to practice, the Texans did regain the services of two players who passed their physicals on Thursday.

Running back Jonathan Grimes was activated from the non-football injury list. Linebacker Trevardo Williams was activated from the physically unable to perform list.

Grimes initially came to the Texans as an undrafted rookie in 2012. Williams was a fourth-round draft pick in 2013 and spent all of his rookie season on injured reserve.

Both players already counted against the Texans' 90-man roster, so they did not have to make any corresponding moves.

Two players remain on the Texans' physically unable to perform list -- inside linebacker Brian Cushing and nose tackle Louis Nix. If they are not activated before the start of Week 1 then they must remain on PUP for at least the first six weeks of the season.
