During a question and answer session with a crowd at St. Thomas High School, Texans coach Bill O'Brien said the team did not consider drafting Johnny Manziel, writes James Palmer of CSNHouston.com. One question from a Texas A&M alumnus asked if there was any internal debate about drafting Manziel. O'Brien said no, sorry. And then: "We spent a lot of time with Johnny and I had great meetings with him," O'Brien said. "He is a bright guy and I really enjoyed watching him play in college on film and enjoyed talking with him."

The Texans aren't holding back with rookie quarterback Tom Savage, writes Brian Smith of the Houston Chronicle. Savage is being loaded with a lot of information as he tries to learn the Texans offense. "We're putting him in difficult situations and if he does make a mistake, we slow it down on tape, slow it down in the meeting room, and then give him the same situation the next day," quarterbacks coach George Godsey said. "Tom's done a good job of trying to handle those things throughout the nine days of practice."
