HOUSTON -- Houston Texans receiver DeAndre Hopkins wears the No. 10 in part because Argentinian soccer star Lionel Messi wears that number, too.
Much to Hopkins' dismay, Hopkins didn't get a meeting when Messi was in Houston for a friendly.
His new sponsor could help change that.
On Tuesday, Hopkins announced that he has signed with adidas.
On the American football side he joins players such as Denver pass-rusher Von Miller, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Washington cornerback Josh Norman.
As for the sport the rest of the world calls football, Hopkins will be joining one of his favorite players, as Messi counts adidas among his sponsors.
