GREEN BAY, Wis. — This is the final part in a series looking at the Green Bay Packers' offseason roster by position as they head into organized team activity practices, which began Wednesday. The first OTA session open to fans (weather permitting) and reporters is Thursday at 11:30 a.m. CT.

Roster spots likely available: 10 or 11.
Competition: This is one of the few spots where there's actually an open starting job after Williams signed with the Cleveland Browns in free agency. Hayward likely has the inside track, but he has not been handed a starting job. In fact, cornerbacks coach Joe Whitt said after the Packers took Randall and Rollins with their first two picks in the draft that everything is up for grabs. However, with Shields making $9.75 million a year, it's hard to imagine his spot is open. Other than Shields, none of the corners, including Hayward, has extensive experience playing on the outside, as Williams did. Hayward and Hyde have played mostly in the slot, which is where both Randall and Rollins played most of their college snaps.
At the safety spot, Burnett and Clinton-Dix proved to be a capable duo last season, which could allow Hyde to move back to cornerback full time. The Packers would like to find a way to get Richardson on the field for more than the 133 defensive snaps he played last season, which is why they matched the Oakland Raiders' $2.55 million restricted free agent offer sheet to keep him.
Notable: Randall missed both of the practices during the rookie orientation camp on May 8-9 because of an ankle injury, so OTAs will be the first chance to see him on the field. … Coach Mike McCarthy hasn't closed the door on a possible return by Bush, even though his No. 24 was given to Rollins.
