GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre's induction into the team’s Hall of Fame this summer will be open to fans after all.

Sort of.

Less than a month after announcing that all 1,600 tickets to the July 18 event had been sold to sponsors and supporters, the Packers Hall of Fame said Friday that fans will be able to come to Lambeau Field for the induction.

However, they will not be allowed inside the stadium atrium, where the ceremony will take place. Instead, there will be additional seating inside the Lambeau Field bowl, and the ceremony will be shown live on scoreboard video screens.

Also, Favre will make an appearance in the stadium bowl and will address fans.

"We are pleased to be able to offer new options for fans to share in the excitement of the evening," Packers Hall of Fame president Perry Kidder said.

Last week at the NFL scouting combine, Favre's long-time agent, Bus Cook, told ESPN.com that Favre and the Packers were working on a solution to include fans.

"They'll get it all worked out," Cook said last week. "Everybody is trying to work together to get it all figured out. He wants to get it worked out."

Tickets will be $4 and net proceeds will go to Favre's charity, Favre 4 Hope. They will go on sale May 12 and will be available through Ticketmaster.

"This viewing opportunity from the stadium will be a unique complement to a special evening and allow more people to share their excitement with Brett," Packers president Mark Murphy said.

The ceremony also will be televised live around Wisconsin on the Packers TV Network and nationally on NFL Network.

This fall, the Packers will place Favre’s name and his retired No. 4 in the stadium's ring of honor on the north façade. A date will be determined when the NFL schedule is released, but Cook said he hoped it would be when the Packers play the rival Chicago Bears.
