From the island green at the par-3 17th to the railroad ties throughout TPC Sawgrass' Stadium course, golf fans have come to appreciate the picturesque vistas each year at the Players Championship.
One view PGA Tour players might not have enjoyed as much was the overhanging tree at the sixth tee. That problem might have been solved.
In a tweet sent out Thursday morning, that piece of lumber looks like it will be destined for a fireplace in colder climates.
However, it's probably
not the most famous tree on a golf course to get cut down this year.
It's a sad day at TPC Sawgrass, as we are losing one of the most recognizable trees on property, due to poor health.
