DETROIT -- The Detroit Lions' decision on the final two wide receiver spots might have been made a little easier during Thursday night's 17-10 win over the Buffalo Bills.

In the final exhibition game, T.J. Jones had two receptions, one a 64-yard touchdown, and an 18-yard punt return.

Although Jones is practice squad-eligible, he might have gotten a boost because of an injury.

Greg Salas, who had two receptions, one for 8 yards and one for 13 yards and a first down, left the game in the first quarter with a knee injury and did not return. He had to be carted to the locker room.

Veterans Lance Moore and Jeremy Ross are also in contention.

QB Depth Chart: Lions coach Jim Caldwell has not said whether the team intends to keep three quarterbacks on the roster as it did last season.

Dan Orlovsky established himself as the backup to starter Matthew Stafford this preseason, but Moore played fairly well against the Bills.

Moore was 16-22 for 150 yards and one touchdown.

Running Game AWOL: The Lions had two yards of rushing offense in the first half.

George Winn had five yards on five carries and Zach Zenner had -3 yards on six carries.

In fairness, the Lions did not have any of their expected starters on the offensive line playing.

Rookie Report: Zenner, the undrafted running back out of South Dakota State, came into the game leading the league in rushing with 25 carries for 162 yards.

Despite the negative first-half total, Zenner picked up the pace in the second half and scored the go-ahead touchdown with 10:19 left in the fourth quarter.

Second-round pick Ameer Abdullah did not play.

Lots of Tahir: Tahir Whitehead, who is likely to be one of the starting linebackers, played a lot more than one would expect of a starter in a fourth preseason game.

Whitehead played into the fourth quarter, recording a team-high six tackles.

Who's That Again? Defensive tackle Kerry Hyder's name has not been mentioned much this training camp but it was mentioned three times Thursday.

Hyder recovered two fumbled snap exchanges by Bills quarterback Matt Simms in the first half and then recovered a fumble after a sack to end the third quarter.
