Broncos healthy going into scrimmage

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The Denver Broncos head into their first significant live tackling of training camp on Saturday as a healthy team across the depth chart.

The team will hold its annual summer scrimmage Saturday at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

With Derek Wolfe having returned to practice Friday -- he left Thursday’s workout with some lower back stiffness -- the Broncos have most of their starters available for the scrimmage.

The only players held out of Friday’s practice were defensive end Chase Vaughn (right knee), defensive end Greg Latta (right hip) and cornerback Louis Young (groin).

Linebacker Von Miller and cornerback Chris Harris Jr. -- both are coming back from ACL surgeries -- will participate in the practice portion of Saturday’s affair, but are not expected to participate in the scrimmage.

In the scrimmage, which will be conducted with game conditions, the No. 1 offense will go against the No. 2 defense for 12 plays, the No. 2 offense will go against the No. 1 defense for 12 plays and the No. 3 offense will face No. 3 defense for 12 plays.

Coaches will use headsets and the quarterbacks and designated players on defense will have the helmet receivers to hear the plays sent in.
