Australian lightweight Michael Katsidis, who has been in several thrilling brawls and is one of boxing's most revered action fighters of the past decade, said he is ready to bring the heat when he faces England's Tommy Coyle on Saturday at the Ice Arena in Hull, England.

"I'm here to prove that I still have plenty left to offer, and there will be no questioning my future after Hull," Katsidis said. "I've been over here for a while, settling in, getting comfortable in his backyard and ready to perform at my best on the night. I don't know much about Tommy, but I know that he is in for a tough night."

Katsidis (30-6, 24 KOs), 34, has been in many tough fights, and after losing four out of five bouts, he retired in 2012. But after two years away from the ring, he returned in March and has won two fights in a row, albeit against lower level opposition in Australia, including a rematch with England's Graham Earl in July.

Katsidis-Earl I, which took place in England in 2007, was one of the wildest fights of the decade, which Katsidis won by fifth-round knockout.

Coyle (19-2, 8 KOs), 25, will be fighting in his hometown and has begun to develop his reputation as an all-action fighter in the wake of his absolutely epic battle with Daniel Brizuela in February. Coyle stopped him in the 12th round, but not until each man had been knocked down four times in a blazing fight of the year candidate.

Katsidis knows he could be in for another hard fight and said he is ready.

"I love boxing, and this is what I do," he said. "This isn't a job for me; this is love."

In the co-feature, 2012 Olympic gold medalist Luke Campbell (8-0, 6 KOs), also from Hull, meets Brizuela (26-3-2, 8 KOs).

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has said that, if Coyle and Campbell both keep winning, it could lead to a showdown next summer. They are both up for it.

"We both have tough fights on Saturday, but if we keep winning, then we can be looking at a massive outdoor show at the KC Stadium, which will be great for boxing fans and for the people of Hull," Campbell said. "Tommy and I have been friends for a long time. We've known each other for over a decade, we trained together as kids, but this is the sport we're in. It's the entertainment business, and we can put our friendship to one side for a night to put on a great show for the fans. I am going to stay unbeaten, that's for sure, so if Tommy can do the same we'll be ready for a big one."

Said Coyle: "We're pals and we've traveled the world together as amateurs, but I am not daft. Eddie promotes us both, and it makes sense to put us in the ring together. First and foremost, it's Katsidis. The fight with Luke excites me very, very much. Luke is a good friend of mine. I have a lot of respect for him and his success in the Olympics.

"I'd be confident of beating him. He has not been in there with someone like me but it would be a very good fight, and we both have hard fights to take care of this weekend first."
