ARLINGTON, Texas -- Robbie Ross will attempt to snap a personal three-decision losing streak when the Texas Rangers' 24-year-old left-hander takes on the Boston Red Sox in the final game of the homestand set for 2:05 p.m. Sunday at Globe Life Park.

“I don’t want to forget what’s gotten me here," Ross said. “Attack is always what I’ve done as a pitcher."

In his past two starts, Ross has been hit hard, allowing 23 hits in 8.2 innings. Each game ended in a 12-1 Texas defeat. But Ross said he felt good in his most recent outing and that things didn’t go his way.

“Just inconsistent location," Rangers manager Ron Washinton said. “His location has been bad. He’s not executing pitches like he did earlier. When you miss spots, you get hurt."

Washington said Ross, along with Martin Perez and even Yu Darvish, have “never had their ears pinned back," while Colby Lewis and Matt Harrison “have been there."

“When they struggle, you’ve got to hang in there with them," Washington said.

Battling through the lows of their current strings of forgettable starts, Washington said, will prove helpful for Ross and Perez in the future.
