Ezekiel Elliott hopes to learn, listen from Emmitt Smith, Tony Dorsett

IRVING, Texas -- Ezekiel Elliott is nothing if not prepared.

Knowing there was a possibility the Dallas Cowboys could take him with the No. 4 overall pick, he packed a blue suit just in case. He was able to show off the blue suit with white shirt and blue tie that seemed to match perfectly with the Cowboys' star when he met the local media Friday.

Friday was Elliott's second visit to Valley Ranch, having spent two days with the Cowboys earlier in the month. He knew then he wanted to return.

"It was pretty obvious that Dallas was where I wanted to go," Elliott said. "It's a dream come true to be at the place you wanted to end up."

He was welcomed via Twitter by Emmitt Smith, the NFL's all-time leading rusher.

Smith also answered a fans' tweet that Elliott is better than Smith.

"I've heard about that," Elliott said. "I'm honored that he believes that but I've got a lot to prove and for me to live up to his name is going to take a lot of work. I'm just ready to get to rookie minicamp."

Elliott will get his first look at the practice field May 6-8 for the rookie camp. All eyes will be on him, as they were at Ohio State, as he starts his quest to follow what Smith and Tony Dorsett did before him. At Ohio State, he had to follow what Heisman Trophy winners Archie Griffin and Eddie George did before him.

He hopes to reach out to Smith and Dorsett the way he did the Buckeyes' greats.

"The best way to learn to be great is to go and pick those guy's brains," Elliott said.
