'All good' with Tony Romo's eye

OXNARD, Calif. -- Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has some slight bruising under his left eye after having a sty removed on Friday but after Saturday’s practice Romo said the eye was “all good.”

Romo did not take part in Friday’s practice after having the procedure. The sty had been troublesome for some time, and the Cowboys wanted to take care of it sooner in camp rather than later. While it did not limit Romo’s work in practice, he was reluctant to do an on-camera interview.

Romo was 7 of 13 in team and seven-on-seven drills in the first day of training camp. He was intercepted once with Morris Claiborne making a diving grab of a throw to Terrance Williams in seven-on-seven work. Later Romo connected with Dez Bryant on a go route over Orlando Scandrick, using his eyes to keep safety J.J. Wilcox to the middle of the field and allowing him more space to fit the ball down the left sideline.

It was the only connection Romo had on four deep passes to Bryant in the practice.

“Just knocking the rust off, that’s all,” Bryant said. “I’m saying that as a joke though. There’s really no rust.”
