It was one Game 7 loss at home too many for Bruce Boudreau. On Friday, the Anaheim Ducks announced that they had fired Boudreau after another postseason disappointment.

“The last four years, the way they ended, all very similar,” GM Bob Murray said during a Friday press conference. “I didn’t think it would be a good situation to go forward in.”

Boudreau won four consecutive Pacific Division titles. But his teams couldn’t finish off 3-2 playoff series leads in four consecutive postseasons, a problem that might say more about the players than the man behind the bench.
