For the first time since 2011, the New York Rangers did not get out of the first round of the playoffs, losing ugly to a red-hot Pittsburgh Penguins team 6-3 on Saturday as they failed to repeat the 3-1 series comebacks they made in each of the past two postseasons. The Penguins won this Eastern Conference first-round series 4-1.

The Rangers, under Glen Sather, and now general manager Jeff Gorton, have been in full-on win-now mode for years, trying to capitalize on having one of the best goalies in the world in Henrik Lundqvist.

Now comes a challenging offseason, in which tough decisions will have to be made because of the salary cap, as the Rangers try to get the team ready for another run. Here’s an early look at what the team's priorities should be this summer:
