Chasing the Blackhawks: Grading Central teams in five key categories

Last year in this space, we compared every NHL team’s roster to the then-reigning champion Los Angeles Kings by seeing how each team stacked up in five key categories that made the Kings great.

It turned out to be an effective exercise to determine who was capable of winning a Stanley Cup. Just four NHL teams had at least four of the Kings characteristics, and two of them -- the Tampa Bay Lightning and Chicago Blackhawks -- played for the Stanley Cup.
