Grading the offseason: Pacific Division

The Pacific may not be back to the powerhouse status it enjoyed when most of the division had realistic Stanley Cup aspirations but, after a down year, the comeback is on. In one offseason, the Oilers have started their evolution from a punchline to the next division power. The Flames pulled off the heist of the offseason in getting Dougie Hamilton. The Sharks flipped the switch from rebuilding to contending again and look to make one last run with Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau.

But it wasn’t all good for Pacific teams.
