Expect Giovani Bernard, Terence Newman for Bengals

CINCINNATI -- It may be a limited dosage of Giovani Bernard, but still expect the Cincinnati Bengals to trot out the shifty running back at Houston on Sunday.

Also look for them to have cornerback Terence Newman once again after he missed last week's game with a knee injury.

Both players are listed as probable on Friday's injury report. With no players whose injury status is unclear or in doubt, the Bengals are as healthy as they have been all year.

Only linebacker Vontaze Burfict and defensive end Margus Hunt are officially out for Sunday. Burfict is still coming off a arthroscopic knee surgery, although he's trying to mend enough to play next week at Tampa Bay. Hunt is still in a walking boot after suffering an ankle injury last week against the Saints.

In addition to Bernard and Newman, the Bengals will have right offensive tackle Andre Smith back in the mix after he missed the last two games with an ankle issue. Smith's presence will be a significant upgrade from backup Marshall Newhouse, particularly with the Bengals about to face the league's most freakish athlete, defensive end J.J. Watt.

While Bernard probably will cede a few touches this week to rookie running back Jeremy Hill, who has 361 yards in the last three games, don't look for rookie corner Darqueze Dennard to fill in much for Newman. As much as Dennard impressed in his 14 snaps last week at New Orleans, the veteran still will get the bulk of the cornerback snaps alongside Leon Hall and Adam Jones.
