What it means: Floyd may have turned the corner after struggling from mid-May to mid-June. He’s allowed no runs in his last two starts. For the White Sox, they extended their lead over the Cleveland Indians to 1 ½ games in the American League Central. The White Sox could win their second consecutive series if they defeat the Twins on Wednesday.
Outside the box: Paul Konerko was overtaken Tuesday for the American League lead in batting average by the Los Angeles Angels’ Mike Trout, who is hitting .335. Konerko went 0-for-3 Tuesday, and his average fell to .333. Konerko was batting .399 on May 27.
