Ruggiano to get MRI on hamstring

CHICAGO -- Chicago Cubs outfielder Justin Ruggiano will have an MRI on his left hamstring after injuring it while trying to catch what turned into a game-winning triple by Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Aaron Hill in the ninth inning of the Diamondbacks' 7-5 win on Wednesday.

“Ruggiano is going to get an MRI,” Cubs manager Rick Renteria said after the game. “We won’t know the extent of it until he gets seen.”

With two outs and the score tied 5-5 Hill hit a fly ball down the right field line. Ruggiano fell near the visitors’ bullpen mound as the ball landed in fair territory. Two runs scored on the play.
