Josh Vitters will bat seventh in his first major league start on Monday.
Vitters will start at third base and bat seventh against Padres' left-hander Eric Stults. The 22-year-old first-round pick of the 2007 draft, flew out in his first major-league at-bat on Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Jackson will start again, this time leading off against the Padres. He was 2 for 4 with a walk and a run scored in his debut on Sunday.

Cubs manager Dale Sveum was happy to welcome the young prospects into the fold on Sunday.

"It's nice to get guys in the lineup with fast-twitch fibers and athletes and guys that are going to develop now at the big-league level to see what we've got and move forward," Sveum said. "These guys have got bat speed, they've got hand speed. These are the things you want to see at the big-league level and now they develop."

Sveum moved second baseman Darwin Barney up to the two-hole up from his usual seventh spot, and Starlin Castro will bat fifth for the second straight game.

Here is the full Cubs lineup against the Padres:

1. Jackson CF

3. Anthony Rizzo 1B
4. Alfonso Soriano LF
5. Castro SS
