Bulls Sumer League Roster CHICAGO -- Patrick Beverley is participating in the Chicago Bulls mini-camp as they get set to head to Las Vegas for Summer League action next week, according to a source. Beverley, the former Marshall High School standout, could be a cheap option for the Bulls at the end of their bench.

Yahoo! Sports first reported Beverley's participation.

This isn't the first time the Bulls have shown interest in the 24-year-old. They considered signing him at the beginning of the 2010-2011 season, but opted to go in a different direction. Given the Bulls precarious salary cap position, Beverley could fill a role as a backup point guard behind Kirk Hinrich and rookie Marquis Teague to begin the season and Derrick Rose continues rehabbing his injured left knee.

Beverley was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the 2009 NBA draft before being traded to the Miami Heat, who released him just before the 2010 season. He was named the EuroCup MVP last season while playing for Spartak St. Petersburg.

Interestingly, Beverley's name is not on the final Bulls' summer league roster that the organization just released, although if he impresses in camp he may earn an invitation to training camp late in September.
