Cavs 114, Bulls 108 (OT): Rose hurts ankle

CHICAGO -- LeBron James is the best player in the game and proved it again by dropping 36 points in the Cleveland Cavaliers' 114-108 overtime win over the Chicago Bulls, but he wasn't the story in this game. Derrick Rose's sprained left ankle is.

Rose recap: Rose looked like his old self in the first half, scoring 18 points and driving to the rim, but he also suffered a left ankle injury with about four minutes left in the first half and was never the same even after staying in the game. In the third quarter Rose scored only two points in nine minutes. He left the bench in the fourth quarter and never returned.

The takeaway: Everything in the Bulls' world revolves around Rose. His ankle injury may turn out to be insignificant over time, but it reinforces just how fragile he can be. The biggest question the Bulls have is whether they can count on him for an entire season. Just two games into this season it's still the question that hovers over everything the Bulls do.

Stat of the night: The Cavs outrebounded the Bulls 52-42.

Noah watch: Joakim Noah still doesn't look right moving around after offseason knee surgery. He exceeded the minutes limit he was supposed to have in the first few weeks and ended up playing almost 40 minutes. It will be interesting to see how much he plays on Saturday.

What's next: The Bulls are right back at it Saturday night when they face the Minnesota Timberwolves.
