Blackhawks trade Raanta to Rangers for Haggerty

SUNRISE, Fla. -- The Chicago Blackhawks traded goaltender Antti Raanta to the New York Rangers for forward Ryan Haggerty on Saturday.

Raanta, 26, went 7-4-1 with a 1.86 goals-against average and .936 save percentage for the Blackhawks last season. He also played for the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL last season. He signed a two-year extension prior to the 2014-15 season.

Haggerty, 22, had 15 goals and 18 assists for the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL in his first professional season in 2014-15. He previously played three years at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Raanta's future with the Blackhawks became less certain when on the same day in February that Scott Darling signed a two-year extension, Darling was promoted to the Blackhawks from the AHL and Raanta was reassigned to the IceHogs.
