Fourth-round pick Jeremy Langford agrees to 4-year deal

Chicago Bears fourth round-pick running back Jeremy Langford agreed to terms on a four-year contract on Tuesday.

Langford is the third member of Chicago's 2015 draft class to agree to a contract, joining fifth round choice Adrian Amos and sixth rounder Tayo Fabuluje.

The 106th overall selection, Langford is entitled to receive a maximum year-one salary of $570,906 per the 2015 NFL rookie compensation pool. The minimum Langford can sign for in year-one is $545,881.

Langford rushed for 100-yards plus 18 times at Michigan State, including 16 straight 100-yard games versus Big Ten teams to close out his college career. From 2013-14, Langford rushed for 2,944 yards and 40 touchdowns.

"Standout trait with him is really his speed," Bears general manager Ryan Pace said. "This guy has home-run ability. We feel like he's got a lot of upside. He's played multiple positions, so he's still getting better as a running back. But again, this guy's speed stands out, and we're excited to have him here."

Langford will compete against Ka'Deem Carey, Jacquizz Rodgers and Senorise Perry for the primary backup role behind incumbent starter Matt Forte.

Langford also projects to have value on special teams.
