Wake-up call: First day in pads

Every day of Chicago Bears training camp, we'll have a wake-up call that previews the day ahead.

9:00 a.m. CT -- Bears practice with full pads (open to the public).

Approx. 11:30 a.m. CT -- Marc Trestman, defensive and special teams coaches, and select players are available to the media coming off the practice field.

Sunday marks the Bears’ first full pads practice of the summer. The first day with pads is always an anticipated event, and attendance is expected to exceed Saturday’s estimated crowd of over 6,000 fans. The line to enter the practice fields stretched completely around the parking lots and down the block towards the main entrance road on Saturday. The lines are likely to be even longer on Sunday. Give yourself extra time if you plan to travel to Bourbonnais on Sunday.

Among the storylines we’ll be following:

  • How do rookie DL Ego Ferguson and Will Sutton perform in pads?

  • After an even day on Saturday, will either the offense or defense have the edge on Sunday?

  • Will Tim Jennings return to practice, plus other injury news and notes.
