The Buffalo Bills have been on the lookout for height at wide receiver.

The bottom of their depth chart at the position features five players who are 6-foot-3 or taller: Ramses Barden (6-6), Brandon Kaufman (6-5), Chris Summers (6-5), Cordell Roberson (6-4), and Kevin Elliott (6-4).

In signing Barden and Summers this offseason, while retaining Kaufman and Roberson, the Bills are searching for a player who can use his size to stand out -- literally and figuratively -- from the pack. Ideally, that receiver would complement the speed and pass-catching skills of receivers at the top of the depth chart.

However, in Kaufman's case, the Bills might have different plans. In an interview with the Bills' official radio show Thursday, Kaufman said that he has gained weight and could shift inside to tight end.

"It was my agent's idea to get up to 235 [pounds]," Kaufman said. "And then, just recently when we left the season, I was just in the cafeteria, I was just getting food with [CEO Russ] Brandon and he just mentioned about keeping the weight going.

"So now I'm about 245 [pounds] and I talked to [offensive coordinator Nate] Hackett and we'll see. We'll see if I end up being a stand up tight end or a slot receiver, or something like that."

The Bills listed Kaufman at 215 pounds last season. After signing with the Bills as an undrafted free agent from Eastern Washington, Kaufman spent training camp and the preseason with the Bills before being released. He was re-signed to the practice squad late in the season.
