Cardale Jones thought Bills' draft call was a prank

Perhaps no player selected during last week's NFL draft was more excited than former Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones, on whom the Buffalo Bills used the final pick of the fourth round.

Yet the call from Buffalo wasn't the first that Jones received last Saturday. He was getting prank calls throughout the draft, he revealed this week.

"I was just so excited," he told WGR 550 on Monday. "I'm not gonna lie; I haven't even told the coaches this yet: I thought it was kind of like a prank call. Because I was getting calls from weird numbers all day. I would answer and [they] would hang up."

Jones thought his friends were playing a joke on him, so he didn't trust the Bills' call until he saw his selection announced on television.

"So I didn't believe it until it went across [the screen]," he said. "I was in my room, watching it. When I stepped out to the front to finish watching it with my family, my name popped up at the bottom. I just put the phone down and it was just crazy."
