ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore was taken to the locker room in the first quarter of Saturday's preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers to be evaluated for a possible concussion.

Gilmore, the Bills' top cornerback, was hit by receiver Markus Wheaton on a 20-yard catch near the goal line. He sat on the field for a few moments before trainers walked with him to the locker room.

The Bills were also without linebacker Tony Steward (knee) for the remainder of Saturday's game.

Steward was the Bills' top reserve linebacker following a season-ending knee injury to Ty Powell. Without Steward, undrafted rookie A.J. Tarpley is expected to fill that role.
