Bills' preseason finale blacked out

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bills' preseason finale against the Detroit Lions will be blacked out, the team announced Monday.

The Bills failed to reach a sellout by Monday's deadline, so the game will not be shown on local television.

While the fourth preseason game is traditionally a dud, the Bills are expected to play several offensive starters, including quarterback EJ Manuel.

Television blackouts have been an issue for the Bills in recent seasons. CEO Russ Brandon noted in December that the Bills sold out only two of their seven home games (not counting the "home" game in Toronto) and had to "manufacture sellouts in the other four or five."
