Bills' Goodwin shaking off injuries

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- It's seemingly been one injury after another for wide receiver Marquise Goodwin since the Buffalo Bills drafted him in the third round a year ago.

He missed four games last season with a broken hand and has also dealt with hamstring, elbow, and knee injuries. Goodwin was among the Bills' top three receivers on the field in Saturday's preseason loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but left with a neck injury.

The 5-foot-9, 179 pound Goodwin -- who ran track for the United States in the 2012 Olympics -- said his size makes him more susceptible to injuries.

"It's just part of the game. I think a lot of people fail to realize that when you're running at full speed into people, especially with a little frame like me, there's going to be a few nicks here and there, as opposed to a bigger body that's running slowly," Goodwin said Monday. "I just try to push through it and rehab. I don't plan on missing any days."

After leaving Saturday's game, Goodwin was back and practicing fully Monday and Tuesday and said he doesn't pay much attention to criticism about his durability.

"It's definitely fair. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion," he said. "What people think really doesn't matter at the end of the day. As long as I work on trying to stay healthy, work on getting healthy and just take care of my body and do what I have to do to help the team win and move in the right direction, that's all that matters at the end of the day."
