Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz briefly updated his status with this tweet this morning. He is on the disabled list with a heel injury and is eligible to be activated Aug. 1.

Ortiz said Sunday he probably will not travel with the team to Texas but is expected to rejoin the Sox in New York later in the week.
